2024.40 Done 25!

Justin DeVuyst has produced the ninth Rakudo compiler release of 2024: 2024.09, a mostly bug-fixing release and one new Routine trait: is revision-gatedBinary packages will become available shortly, as well as updates to Rakudo Star, if they are not already. Kudos to all involved!

This marks the 25th release done by Justin DeVuyst, so an extra kudo is indicated for them!

  • Timo Paulssen fixed a potential crash with resizing arrays on MoarVM.
  • Jan-Olof Hendig upped the dependency of MoarVM on libuv to 1.49.0.
  • Will Coleda fixed several mojibake issues in Github rendering of pod files.
  • Elizabeth Mattijsen made the Date.DateTime coercer timezone aware in 6.e, and merged / re-imagined a number of older Pull Requests:
    • Added a Mu.Callable($method-name) coercer.
    • Added Mu:D.ACCEPTS method (by the late Ben Davies)
    • Added :smartcase named argument to Str.(starts-with | substr-eq | ends-with | contains | indices | index | rindex) in 6.e
    • Added IO::Path.stem method in 6.e.
  • Wenzel P.P. Peppmeyer added HyperWhatever support for postcircumfix { } in 6.e.
  • Salvador Ortiz fixed an issue with postfix with / without followed by postfix for.
