2024.24 Always Sommer

For the past five+ years, Arne Sommer has been publishing blog posts about the Raku Programming Language just about every week. Usually as part of the Weekly Challenge, but also more generally about Raku, such as a project about a Stateless Quiz System. So kudos to Arne! Because it’s always to good to give kudos!

Raku Grants accepted!

The Grant Committee has accepted both recent Raku grant requests:

This is really good news! It will allow Tony and Stefan to dedicate extended periods of quality time to these projects. Looking forward to see the fruits of these grant proposals (/r/rakulang comments).

Core Developments

  • Patrick Böker fixed an issue with return values and LEAVE phasers.
  • Daniel Green fixed an issue with the serialization of 64-bit unsigned integers, missing definitions in MoarVM on the MSVC compiler, and disabled some Javascript backend specific code on other backends.
  • Elizabeth Mattijsen fixed some minor issues with FIRST and LAST phasers as part of the body of a .map or .duckmap.

In RakuAST developments this week:

  • Elizabeth Mattijsen made =for formula parse in RakuDoc.
  • The number of passing test-files with the new Raku grammar are now 144/153 (make test +0) and 1063/1356 (make spectest +0).
